So, I've been home for a while now, and I haven't updated my story, so I guess I owe you guys some info.
Well now, I must admit that for my first LAN party, I had a lot of fun hanging out with everyone. I met up with the leader of the OSU clan OregonSniper and Canadianpeople on campus and we went down to Mount Vernon to join up with the party. There were about a solid 15 people, and most everyone was excited about the new Star Wars: The Old Republic game that had came out a few weeks ago. I haven't picked up the game yet, and I don't really plan on it yet since it's a subscription based game, and I don't want to pay $15 a month just to play a game a few hours a week since I'm getting more work these days.
Back on the topic at hand, I mostly played good old TF2 with the other clan mates who couldn't make it on our game server, but playing with Oregon and Canadian in the same room was fun as I could yell at them from where I was sitting for killing me. Now that I think about it, I don't quite recall how I first found the server, but I really did like playing with them, and I never have joined a gaming clan before, so I thought why not. Almost a year later, I don't regret it. I've made some really great friends and I'm having fun just tooling around with them in-game and out in the real world.
When you think about it, meeting people on the internet is sometimes a good and bad thing, what with all the horror stories you hear about people meeting with bad dates or getting killed. But this isn't a Lifetime movie and I'm certainly not a woman. Everyone is different when it comes to internet experience, and for me, I think I know enough that I can handle myself online and in reality. And besides, it's easier for me to make friends online than in person. Although that might be more of a topic for a later posting perhaps.
